The ridiculous has happened – Maznah Yusof, or Chetz, has been remanded for four days from today.
Segamat district police chief Superintendent Mohd. Kamil Sukarmi said that the remand order was issued by the Assistant Registrar of the Magistrate’s Court of Segamat, Mohd. Devendra Ostadi.
“Maznah will be remanded four days from today (Thursday) until this Sunday to facilitate investigations under Section 4 (1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and Section 298A of the Penal Code for causing disharmony on grounds of religion,” he said when contacted yesterday. [Source]
Chetz was arrested on Wednesday at her home in Rawang. According to Chetz’s lawyer, Latheefa Koya, Chetz has been cooperating with the police and agrees to be charged if indeed there really was a case for her to answer.
