Someone once told us that boots were an abomination to wear in hot weather. It turns out they were only 30% right because if you get the right pair of boot, it’ll be much comfier than say, a pair of trainers. Other than that, they’re also stylish and you can pretty much complete numerous outfits with the right pair of boots.
When it comes to picking a pair of boots for warm climate, ankle boots are the best picks because they work with just about everything from tapered pants to mini skirts. Avoid thigh-high boots because you’re not really going to go anywhere unless you’re determined to perspire your legs to skinniness.
The star of the show should in fact be a pair of ankle boots. If you plan on walking for miles in them, invest in a really good pair that will last, and make sure the heel doesn’t go more than two inches because that puts a lot of stress around your heels. We’re also not ruling out combat boots or sturdy boots like Dr. Martens. Since its flagship store opened at The Gardens, Mid Valley in January, fashionistas are taking boots to the next level in our humid, tropical heat.
If you’re dead set on wearing boots this season, here’s a simple guide to wearing boots in our warm climate.
Pair it with Shorts
Ankle boots turns the casual image of shorts into something a little sophisticated, but if you’re tired of classic denim shorts, give prints a go! Since it’s summer, there’s no point in reserving yourself to bold plain colors. Whether they’re tie-dye shorts or leopard print shorts, your pair of ankle boots will keep the look extra chic. Top it off with a crisp blazer, and you can head up to a fancy bar for cocktails! Remember to keep the design and cut of the boot simple.
Go Cowboy
You never want to give up on a pair of cowboy boots when you see one. Cowboy boots were really made for walking, dancing, and just about every other thing you can imagine what a cowboy does. Cowboy boots don’t only go well when you tuck in a pair of classic blue skinny jeans, but pairing it with a boho dress certainly adds a playful feel to it. Girls who are into the boho/tribal look will definitely have fun with a pair of cowboy boots. It can also be paired with a simple floral dress for fun and flirty feel!
Stripes and Colored Boots
We commonly see boots in neutral tones like beige, brown and black. But if you find a pair of colored boots in your hand, how do you wear it? Easy! Keep your outfit simple with black and white hues, and finish off with a pair of colored boots. If looking like a zebra isn’t your thing, a single colored t-shirt dress can go a long way too.
Wear it with Skater Skirts
We’re so glad to see the skater skirt back in trend because believe it or not – it complements every shape out there! If you like keeping it casual yet fun at the same time, pair your skater skirt with a fitted t-shirt and a pair of sturdy ankle boots, so it can take you out from brunch to a music show at night.
Ankle Boots Do’s and Don’ts
1. Don’t pair your black ankle boots with a black dress or a full-black outfit.
