While “Gangnam Style” may have made this Korean music sensation a hit around the world, sadly South Korean broadcaster, KBS found Psy’s latest music video “Gentleman” distasteful, resulting it to the music video being banned by the officials.
The Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), one of the major broadcaster in South Korea has banned the new music video as the rapper was seen “abusing public property”. In the opening sequence, Psy kicks a traffic cone that says “no parking” before laughing uproariously and pointing at the camera.
An anonymous statement released by the broadcaster said the scene in the video did not meet its high public standards as a broadcaster, and they have apparently banned numerous videos in the past for the same reason.
Fortunately, we highly doubt that the banning of the video in South Korea will affect the success of his new music video. “Gentleman” was featured on YouTube on Saturday and has already garnered up to 145,000 views. “Gangnam Style” was the most-watched video on YouTube, earning a whopping total of 1.5 billion views. Well done, Psy!
