A wardrobe ‘advisory’ by CBS has been broadcasted and it is asking musicians, as well as the audience to avoid wearing serval things in preparation for the upcoming Grammy Awards ceremony that is happening on the 10th of February.
The rules include not wearing brand names on T-shirts as well as clothing with political or activist slogans during the night of the event. It doesn’t stop there! In the memo issued by CBS, they continued to say, “Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare flesh under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack”
Apparently, this is all happening because there is still an ongoing battle over indecency and obscenity standars on U.S network television.
CBS has been fined several times for random incidents that have happened during these awards show. For example, they were fined US$550,000 (RM1.6million) by the Federal Communications Commission for airing a glimpse of Janet Jackson’s break when her costume slipped while signing at the 2004 Super Bowl half-time show. They are also implementing this rule for the stars who hit the red carpet – so we really wonder what’s going to happen. We’ll stay tuned for the Grammy’s that’s happening this 10th of February!
