On January 25th, a decomposed body of a young boy was found in a jetty in Port Klang. Malaysians speculated that the body belonged to six year-old William Yau, a young child who was reported missing on January 16th in Putra Heights. The body was taken to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, where William’s parents headed to to identify the body. Goh Ying Ying, William’s mother confirmed the body was of her missing son, based on the clothing on his body. Today, the DNA test revealed that the body was that of William Yau Zhen.
And while one mystery is solved, investigators are stuck with the biggest question of all: What happened to William and how did he end up in the Klang river?
The police are trying to determine whether the 6 year-old’s death was due to murder or misadventure. Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Ramli said the police had not ruled out foul play and were looking at the likelihood that they boy was dumped into the river.
Many speculated that William could have fallen into the drain, however a check by sources claim that he could’ve fallen into a drain, but suggested that the distance between Putra Heights to where the body was found, was too far.
William Yau’s remains are expected to be released to his family today. (Source)

[6.00PM] Goh Ying Ying, William’s mother confirms that the body is William based on the article of clothing, however the authorities will only confirm the information once DNA results have been released.
[5.10PM] According to sources, the post mortem has been completed. Furthermore, William Yau’s mother has identified the body found in Klang as William, based on the scars on the right forehead and at the back of the head, and his clothing.
Authorities have yet to confirm that the child is William, but will only wait for DNA results before making a conclusive identification. (Source)
[4.50PM] Yahaya Ramli, Subang Jaya OCPD assistant commissioner Yahaya Ramli said the police are 75% sure that the boy found in Port Klang is William Yau. The parents of the missing child only identified him based on the scars on the front and back of his head, and the clothing that he wore.
Post-mortem results cannot determine that cause of death, but it is confirmed that the body of the boy has been dead for a week. (Source)
[2.00PM] According to sources, the parents of William Yau arrived at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah’s Forensics Department around 11am. William’s father, Yau Kok Kang was seen holding his wife who was crying inconsolably while olding to a small yellow T-shirt. (Source)

At 7.30pm on January 25th, a body of a boy wearing an orange T-shirt and yellow shorts with an injury mark on his heard was found floating near the jetty in the river in Klang.
The body was taken to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, and William’s parents have been informed and are on their way to identify the body. (Source)
In the meantime, MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head, Datuk Seri Michael Chong is having sleepless nights trying to figure where William could be.
