So, without further ado, here are some good Feng Shui tips for 2013, brought to you by Master Kenny Hoo and IKEA.
1. 2013: The Year of Correction
Identified as the year of the Water Snake, 2013 is a year filled with excitement and energy. The beginning of Spring is scheduled to start on 4 February 2013m before the Lunar New Year (10 February 2013). The year of the Water Snake will not carry any negative omens to the New Year.
The year of the Water Snake is the perfect period to move into a new house and/or renovate the existing place, especially when these activities are performed at an auspicisous time as advised by a Feng Shui Master.
2. The Lucky Purple
2013’s lucky color is Purple. It signifies the awakening morning mist that powers the ability to rejuvenate the body, mind and soul. Purple also reflects intuition and spirituality which in reality calms the mind, triggers creativity and idea development. It can also present the beginning of a bright and promising future.
3. The Auspicious Sector of 2013
South is regarded as the most auspicious sector and direction in the year of the Water Snake. The love and relationship start will be located at the South sector of a home, and occupants who have their home facing South or bedroom in the South will experience a happy love life. Hopeful occupants will also likely attain love and marriage proposals in 2013 during the months of May, June, August and September. It is recommended that purple elements like a vase, painting, lamp shade, curtains or blankets be added at the South sector to enhance your love luck and conceiving rate.
4. The Inauspicious Sectors and Elements
The inauspicious sectors of 2013 are Southwest, Southeast and the Centre, so you are advised not to make any renovations in these sectors from 4th February 2013 to 3 February 2014. Avoid decorating and painting these areas, especially in red or yellow, and soothe the negative energy with white and blue elements.
It is also advised to avoid installing any water feature such as aquariums or water fountains in the Southwest sector of the house to avoid triggering unintended negative Qi in the Southwest sector this year.
5. Reenergizing the Living Room
Amplify the living space to allow positive energy that will encourage better well-being. Place purple-colored decor like sofa, pillows, paintings and more in your living space that is situated in the Northeast, East and South sectors to create positive energy and greater fortune that will bring about good health, wealth, harmony and prosperity.
6. Setting The Bedroom
The bedroom is important to maint a good relationship with your spouse. Although a wedding portrait is a powerful source of romance energy in Feng Shui, hanging it on top of the bed is certainly not the place for it.
Mirrors in the bedroom should not face windows and doors as it attracts negative energy, and same goes for placing a TV facing the bed directly. The room should not be painted in colors red, pink, brown or yellow as these colors represent fire and earth elements that invite sickness.
