Craft is no-longer limited to just knitting shawls or using the glue-gun to attach pretty beads on your shoes. The crafty woman now can re-invent things, taking old unwanted things and turning them into beautiful pieces to add a certain comfort to the home. So, if you’re planning to get creative at home and revamp the interior of your home with a few simple things for a rustic, cozy feel, we’ve got a couple of simple ideas for you to try!
Old Crates as Shelves
Shelves can make the perfect decor for your home as it gives you both storage space and design. If you’ve gone to any markets and see a couple of fruit crates lying around, ask to pick them up from the stall vendor for a few ringgit and then transform them into something unique.
Start with removing any splinters or bits that could potentially hurt you, and paint a layer of surface finishes of shellac or varnish for a protective coating.
Decorate the inner part with fancy fabrics neatly with Mod Podge, let it dry and hang it up on your wall.
Lace Decoupaged Bowls
Give your plain ceramic bowls a touch of romance with lace. Every woman’s got a soft spot for lace, and you don’t have to limit to only being on your dress or shoes. Turn your bowls and even flower pots into something feminine.
Get a few pieces of lace fabric, enough to cover the pot or just a few strips enough for a little dose of sweetness, and apply a layer of Mod Podge in a matte finish. Let it to dry, and that’s about it. It’s fast and easy and you can do it on anything you’d like.
Framed Sections of Wooden Branch
Turn nature into art by picking a few pieces of broken branches in your garden and attach them into wooden frames. There’s no limit to how you can design them, and they look absolutely unique as bathroom decoration.
Give it a dose of color by painting the wooden frames in your favorite neon color tapes, lace or even cute washi tapes!
Minimalist Handmade Photo Frame
If you’re planning to get your best Instagram pictures printed or feel that your new Polaroid pictures deserve attention, give them a seriously vintage feel with this absolutely simple and cozy-looking photo frame.
All that you require is a huge picture frame, old or new, and nail a few pieces of string across the sides. If you have white string and want it to look aged and gold, simply dip the string in warm coffee for a second and let it out to dry. It will leave your white string with a light brown tinge that will go well with the wooden shades.
Look for you old wooden clothing-pins and clip the pictures in! You can hang your beloved family photos, or even your treasured moments in life.
