The Obedient Wives Club (OWC) caused an uproar when they first emerged in the press. The club sparked further outrage when they spread their wings to neighbouring countries such as Indonesia. From “guiding” women to becoming “better wives” to offering “sex lessons”, the OWC faces strict public scrutiny and disapproval.
So much so that legal actions can and will be taken against the OWC if it contravened non-governmental organization (NGO) conditions.
Last week, Dr Azalina Dato’ Jamaludin and Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir came face to face on The Evening Edition of BFM. Listeners nationwide (and after, netizens too) latched onto the cold debate that took place on-air. Words were exchanged, furious but camouflaged with politeness. It was a debate that left its audience still apprehensive of the club’s objectives.
This week, Dr Azalina Dato’ Jamaludoin takes the “stage” again in yet another interview on-air, where she shares her story with Caroline Oh of BFM.

Is the OWC still as infuriating as they make themselves out to be? Do you agree or disagree more now with Dr Azalina’s beliefs? Is she a woman who has willingly imprisoned herself within her misconception of the teachings of her religion? Or is she a free woman after all?
That’s up to you to decide.
