London Fashion Week Men’s has been relatively quiet so far (I just found out about it this morning tbh). However, today, show-goers got something of a wake-up thanks to designer Xander Zhou, who paraded pregnant male models down the runway in a show that explored the line between human and alien.
This is what they looked like:
On Instagram, Xander posted a photo of one of the models with the caption, “At Supernatural, Extraterrestrial & Co., we’re prepared to welcome a future of male pregnancy.”
Held in the newly refurbished Queen Elizabeth Hall at London’s Southbank Centre, Xander Zhou’s SS19 show felt like a proposition on how people might look in the future – as the models wore super-terrestrial extraterrestrial prints, high tech layers, and articulated trousers with knee pads.
In spite of the questionable runway concept, and although the garment designs for his SS19 collection are somewhat mediocre, Xander Zhou sure knows what he’s doing to put himself on the map. Find out more about the designer here.
