With the abundance of beauty centres in Klang Valley, it can be quite hard to find a place that’s not all about forcing facial packages down your throat. In fact, the question “Where’s a good place for facials?” is one of the most frequently discussed topics among our readers and friends. When I heard of A’aroma Concept Beauty & Spa Boutique at Sunway Giza, I decided to give them a try and I was not disappointed. Read on to find out why I would recommend A’aroma to every girl out there!

A’aroma Concept Beauty & Spa Boutique is a fairly new kid on the block, having opened just earlier this year. Located along the side of Sunway Giza Mall, it was a bit hard to find it at first, but after calling them and getting specifications, I managed to find the right entrance that led to the boutique. The main door of A’aroma beauty centre opens to an interior that’s welcoming and feels natural thanks to wooden panels and a number of greeneries placed around. The smell of essential oils also fills the outlet, putting you at ease and automatically relaxes you immediately.

Products

A’aroma Concept Beauty & Spa prides itself on being Malaysia’s first and exclusive Aromatherapy Associates beauty salon – a U.K. brand whose services are provided at five star hotels around the globe. Celebrities and even the British royal family are fans of Aromatherapy Associates after the founder had introduced it to the late Princess Diana.

I myself am a huge fan of natural products – I have sensitive skin and I’ve discovered that it’s safest for me to use natural and/or organic beauty products to avoid getting a bad reaction or skin irritation. Aromatherapy Associates is an award-winning brand that’s against animal testing, and has no mineral or sulphonated oils, GM ingredients, Sodium Lauryl Supphate (SLS), parabens, propylene glycol and synthetic colours or fragrance. It also supports fair trade and organic agriculture when working with farmers around the world to actively source all essential oils and plant extracts.

Aromatheraphy Associates has a range of skincare products that are available at A’aroma beauty centre, from bath oils, facial cleansers to massage oils.

Service

The facial therapist suggested that I try their signature Aroma Essential Rose Facial treatment after examining my skin type, and led me to a private room, one of the three luxurious spaces that’s designed like a five star hotel room (there’s also an intimate couple suite if you want to go with your loved one).

The treatment started off with a shoulder and facial massage, and to further encourage relaxation, the therapist also let me breathe in some essential oils. It certainly worked because I was already nodding off when she started with the cleansing and toning of my face! The whole treatment lasted about 1 and  a half hours, and consisted of various steps that made me feel thoroughly pampered. For those who want to know what bang you’re getting for your buck, here’s what I experienced during the Aroma Rose Facial treatment: shoulder and facial massage, cleansing, toning, exfoliation, steaming, extraction (she did it so wonderfully that I didn’t cringe from pain!), facial massage, face mask, application of ice ball roller to calm and soothe your skin, shoulder massage, leg massage, facial cold compress, rose serum and moisturizer.

As a light sleeper, I’ll say this: If I can manage to fall into sweet slumber throughout the entire facial treatment without feeling discomfort or pain, then it deserves to get all the praise I can give.

End result

My skin was glowing and smooth – and no redness appeared after the treatment. I also smelled really, really good thanks to the natural ingredients of Aromatheraphy Associates’ products. Even weeks after the treatment, my skin still looked excellent!

I would definitely recommend A’aroma Concept Beauty & Spa Boutique to all women (and men), especially those who love essential oils and natural skincare products. The service at A’aroma is top-notch, so you really feel like the money you’ve spent is truly well spent.

Additional information

  • It was recommended that one goes for a facial treatment every month. If you have bad acne problems, go twice a month until it improves.
  • If you want to get to know the brand, these are the three products that you should start off with: Rose Hydrating Face Mask, Renewing Rose Cleanser, Rose Skin Tonic.
  • Natural essential oils are suitable for all skin types, and a beauty advisor or therapist will guide you on which type to get. They’re also used for people with skin irritation or diseases such as eczema.

Check out A’aroma Concept Beauty & Spa Boutique’s Facebook fanpage here to find out more about other services (they’ve recently added massage treatments, too).
