Who said superhero and crime fighters are reserved for the men only? These women can beat anyone up, any day! Bringing gaming characters to life – or even comic book characters. These actresses have portrayed the most powerful women in the sense of strength and intelligence.  We’ve round out our list of bad ass heroines that are instantly remembered for their roles.

1. Kate Beckinsale as Selene | Movie: Underworld (2003)
Selene is a vampire that hunts lycans – which in this world, are the pure enemies of vampires. Despite all the action and power that goes through this movie – Selene who is played by the oh-so-gorgeous Kate Beckinsale fights not only for her people (the vampires) but also for love. There is a total four movies in this series – and through out, you can see the evolution of Selenes power and strength along with being able to see what’s really in her heart.

2. Mila Jovovich as Alice | Movie: Resident Evil (2002)
Based on the CAPCOM video game series ‘Resident Evil’, Mila Jovovich plays the part of Alice who is on earth to fight a legion of zombies that were created by the evil Umbrella Corporation. Bringing down all kinds of creatures – Milla does it will such style and intensity.

 

3. Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander | Movie: Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2012)
She may not be based on a video game but The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is based on a best-selling Swedish series book by Stieg Larsson. Lisbeth Salander plays your typical rebel with tattoo’s and piercing – she looks pretty scary to approach. She maid – what stands out about Lisbeth Salander is her intelligence. It really is something. Lisbeth is played by the talented Rooney Mara – and it was a major transformation.

 

4. Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft | Movie: Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
Based on the popular video game – Angelina Jolie brought it all to life. She was all kinds of feirce in this movie – dealing with guns and jumping off cliffs. She made us all want to have the strength and sexiness that she holds. Angelina Jolie was really the split scream version of Lara Croft. It all fit perfectly together. 5. Michelle Yeoh as Yu Shu Lien | Movie: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
One of the most popular martial arts movie to date – and it’s all thanks for Michelle Yeoh and her role as Yu Shu Lien. This film became the highest grossing foriegn film in the U.S. History. There is one thing in particular that make this movie as big as it is today. This fight scene HERE… It’s unforgettable.

 

6. Charlize Theron as Aeon Flux | Movie: Aeon Flux
This movie is set in future and a pretty dysfunctional future. Charlize Theron who plays Aeon Flux is a skilled assasin and acrobat. Through the movie you can see her beat up dozens of men at a time, in order to retreive what is hers. Using the domination, sexuality and a little bit of violence. The trailer proves it all. 7. Michelle Pfeiffer – Catwoman (aka Selina Kyle) | Movie: The Batman Returns 
Til this day, we feel that Michelle Pfeiffer is the one to remember when it comes to this role. Catwoman has be portrayed by many other stars,  Halle Barry, Anne Hathaway – we have no complaints about how they did, but, there’s just something about the way that Michelle Pfiffer played this role. There was so much passion and spice – the way she talked, the way she moved.. and the way she whipped. Not to forget her ‘funny’ ways.  Don’t rememeber how she was like? 8. Jennifer Garner as Elektra | Movie: Elektra (2005)
Based on a Marvel character, Elektra once survived a near-death experience and later was trained to become a assasin-for-fire who changes her ways when she meets a single father and his daughter – initially, they were suppose to be her next target. She turned from evil to good and instead fights against the super assassins that were sent her way. Through out the movie – you can see her fight against people that she has trained with and creatures she never knew of. Using only her famous pair of bladed sai.
