If you’re planning on packing your bags and traveling this year, why not go somewhere different? We’ve all heard of the same beach destinations but I bet some, if not all, of these beaches on our list are completely foreign to you.

So, instead of going to the same old place like the rest of the world is doing, why not encourage that adventurous bone in you and visit some of these breathtaking spots? They’re so unique that your Instagram followers will be green with envy after seeing a post from your one of a kind holiday!

Black Sand Beach, Hawaii
Just look at how bad-ass this beach is. It’s sprawled with black sand with green water! What more could one ask for in Hawaii? I think the name speaks for itself.

Pig Beach, Bahamas
What could be better than swimming in crystal clear waters of the Bahamas? Swimming in the clear sea with pigs, that’s what! In Big Majoy Car, feral pigs enjoy chilling around the beach and swimming with tourists.

Whitehaven Beach, Australia
Just look at that photo! The location is a photographer’s dream and has been dubbed as the most eco-friendly beach in the world. If that’s not enough of a reason to have you rushing there then I don’t know what will.  The beach also contains large amounts of silica, which means even on the sunniest of days, you can walk barefooted without squealing.

Pink Sand Beach, Bahamas
The name speaks for itself and thanks to the eroded particles that come from the red corals, the sands of this beach boasts an endearing pinkish glow.

Hidden Beach, Mexico
It used to be a bomb site that was made by the Mexican government back in the early 1900s. The blasting caused a huge hole to form on the canopy of the grotto, which eventually created one of the most stunning hidden gem for tourists and beach-goers.

Bioluminescent Beach, The Maldives
Just when you thought The Maldives couldn’t get any prettier, this happens. Thanks to the bioluminescent phyplankton that lights up when touched, the ocean looks as though its filled with billions of stars for you to swim in.
