In an absolutely daring and refreshing step, American author, novelist and essayist Joan Didion is one of the three personalities featured in Céline’s Summer 2015 campaign. The former Vogue Associate Feature Editor is best known for her novels that explore American society and we can’t think of the last time an octogenarian was the face of a luxury French label. In an industry that often prizes youth as a standard of beauty, Didion as the face of a reputable and much sought after brand debunks this notion. The fact that Didion is a literary figure makes this an even more substantial move.
Shot by Juergen Teller, the campaign will be launch in February 2015 and will feature French ballet dance and choreographer, Marie-Agnès Gillot as well as British model Freya Lawrence.
