[TUTORIAL] How Toilet Paper Can Give You Gorgeous Curly Hair

If you have wavy hair and yearn voluminous curls, you can easily forgo the damaging effects of a perm or using a curling iron. After extensive research, brainstorming and hours of trying out tools like stationeries, we’ve officially uncovered an amazing economical, damage-free and easy method of obtaining beautiful curly locks!

There’s no need to spend any money because you probably already have a few of these stashed up in our house, and you won’t need any additional tools like bobby-pins. This stuff is delicate, gentle, and if you’re a patron of the expensive kinds, they’re extremely durable. We’re talking about toilet paper – the stuff you use to wipe your nose, your butt, and other parts of your body we won’t bother talking about.

Toilet paper seems like an odd thing to use as a hair-styling tool, but it works surprisingly well, and you’ll have fun looking like you’ve just made a crown out of little toilet paper sticks. If you’re curious and you’re willing to try this new hair trick, here’s a simple tutorial to help you curl your hair with toilet paper.

“It’s not what you think it is”

1. Get your hands on a roll of good quality toilet paper (the expensive kinds like Kleenex are best to work with as they’re thicker). Tear out a sheet of toilet paper and roll it up into a thin stick as pictured. You can do it one at a time for each lock of hair, but you might as well make a few, say 20.

2. Brush your hair and part them into four sections. Pull out a small lock of hair and twist the ends around the centre of the tissue roll. Keep rolling the lock of hair all the way up and get it as close to the scalp as you can.

3. Secure the tissue roll by tying up the ends into a knot. Nothing fancy required, but just make sure that the strand of hair is locked up nicely.

You should get something that looks like this:

“Ghetto-fab…no!”

4. You can leave the rolls on for an hour, or sleep with them on. The great thing about these tissues is that they pretty much slide off your hair easily. And if they won’t budge, you can just rip them off with your hands!

Here’s what the curls looked like:

“Soft and weightless. Just like toilet paper”

If you’re too lazy to complete an entire head of hair, you can use this method on certain parts of your hair to add more volume. This is especially helpful if you have wavy hair.

Here’s how some noble toilet paper enhanced limp, heavy and wavy hair into something more stylish with just a few curly strands:

Secure your curls with a spritz of holding spray. You can also use some mousse after you wash your hair, but do not curl your hair with this method when it’s wet. There’s really no need to explain what can happen.
