Celebs Who Broke the Grammy Awards Dress Codes

Just before the 55th Grammy Awards, CBS sent out an email stating an ultra-strict dress code for the celebrities on the red carpet. The ‘wardrobe advisory’ suggested that celebrities should “avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of buttocks and buttock crack” or “under curvature of the breasts”. The organizers also advised that celebrities should ensure that their genital region is adequately covered too. [The 55th Grammy Awards Wardrobe Rules]

But since we stumbled upon a number of celebrities who ignored the dress code, we have wonder if these celebs even considered the strict wardrobe advisory. After all, the notice was sent out at the last minute, and celebrities generally pick out their outfits at least a week, sometimes months ahead before the big event. But without further ado, here are the celebrities who rebelled against the strict Grammy Awards dress code.

1. Katy Perry
There’s no denying what a fit body Katy has, but apart from looking like a green fairy, Katy showed a little too much of her cleavage in that dress. Better luck next time, Katy.

2. Jennifer Lopez
J.Lo pulls off an Angelina Jolie with an aggressively high slit, pretty much exposing her entire leg. And while it’s certainly a gorgeous dress, we’d be way happier if the slit was stitched up about another 5 inches lower.

3. Kelly Rowland
Kelly Rowland is probably deserves an award for rebelling against the dress code. And while the dress was certainly a wicked statement on its own, the Georges Chakra number was way too inappropriate for an award show, even for our taste!

4. Ashanti
Oh, Ashanti. We wish we could tell you just how excited we were for your grand entrance, but that dress showed way too much skin for an event that celebrated music. That Tony Ward Couture gown was not only too sheer, as CBS warned, but it also showed her knickers that resembled a chastity belt.

5. Kat Dennings
Now, you can’t totally blame a woman with fabulous assets that she shouldn’t flaunt what she’s got. Apart from her sassy attitude and confidence, Kat Dennings is also known for her amazing bust line. Donning a a strapless Vivienne Westwood dress, the frock probably didn’t come in the right size to cater to Kat’s curves.

6. Rihanna
Before we tell you what the organizers weren’t happy about, let’s just say we love Rihanna’s beautiful dress and what a woman she looks like! Now, here comes the bad part – the red chiffon was way too sheer and it pretty much shows more than half of the starlet’s boobs. Even reporters said they saw a lot more than what they wanted.

7. Alicia Keys
Although we’re more than excited with Alicia’s return to the stage, the sheer dress she wore in her performance was mighty scandalous! Those opaque bands were still not enough to hide her underboss and sideboob.
