The feud between AirAsia and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) proceeds, with AirAsia chief executive officer Aireen Omar claiming MAHB has ignored the needs and requests of the airline, citing that many issues aren’t appropriately addressed with proper actions.
With that, she has mentioned that AirAsia will go ahead and change the name klia2 to LCCT2 (Low-Cost Carrier Terminal 2) on its website and other promotional materials, even though MAHB has yet to agree to it.
Last week, AirAsia group CEO Tony Fernandes announced that AirAsia would promote klia2 as LCCT2 as it was undeniable that klia2 was a low cost carrier terminal, noting that AirAsia accounted for 98% of the flights there.
Aireen Omar also said that MAHB should stop denying the existence and contribution of AirAsia to the growth of the aviation industry.
MAHB said that changing the name klia2 to LCCT2 would only confuse the public and passengers, and that klia2 was officially registered as the name of the terminal under the International Air Transport Association.
