If you think that sushi is gross because they use raw food like salmon, tuna, octopus and such, then you’re in for something much worst; insect sushi! I’ve never been fond of insects, I would kill them but before I can, they make me scream and run away like my 3year old niece so you have no idea how atrocious this is. According to a Japanese chef who has made sushi using insects rather than seafood, he believes that such insects are not only healthy and tasty (quick! I need a puke bucket!), they cost much less and thus can feed a growing world population.
“In order to get 1 kg of beef, we have to raise cows on huge areas of land and give them many more kilos of fodder before they are ready to be slaughtered,” he said. “Insects eat the things that humans don’t and can be kept in much smaller spaces. Most importantly, insects are very nutritionally balanced, have little fat and are the perfect food source.”
